HOUSTON — The Fuel Rewards Network, Shell Oil Products US and MasterCard Inc. have joined forces to implement a winter promotion whereby consumers can receive greater Shell fuel discounts when shopping at Toys "R" Us, JCPenney and Olive Garden locations.
Consumers are eligible to save up to 60 cents per gallon when taking advantage of the limited-time offer, which began Nov. 3 and runs through March 1:
- Existing Fuel Rewards Network loyalty members who link their MasterCard credit, debit or prepaid card to their account will earn 20 cents per gallon in savings;
- Existing Fuel Rewards Network members can also earn an additional 20 cents per gallon for every $100 they spend cumulatively at Toys"R"Us, JCPenney and Olive Garden; and
- New members will earn 20 cents off per gallon when they join the free program and make an initial fuel purchase (8-gallon minimum).
"At Shell, our goal is to make saving at the pump fun and easy. With over 14,000 locations across the U.S. and great partners like Excentus and MasterCard, we have developed a truly unique rewards programs that offers our customers multiple ways to save on Shell's high-quality fuels," said Craig Schneider, Shell's general manager of marketing for North America.
Greg Boosin, senior vice president of U.S. Vertical Markets for MasterCard, noted that this promotion provides a nice bonus for its cardholders "doing the things they normally do this time of year: shopping for gifts and eating out."
Shell is the national fuel provider for the Fuel Rewards Network, created by Dallas-based Excentus Corp.
Houston-based Shell Oil Products US is a subsidiary of The Netherlands-based Shell Oil Co. It has a network of 6,000 Shell-branded gas stations in the western United States, as well as another 8,300 Shell-branded stations in the eastern portion of the country that are jointly managed by Motiva Enterprises LLC.
