Petrowski, Collupy to Headline 2015 CSNews Fuels & Tech Summit

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — Joe Petrowski and Ed Collupy, two well-known names in the convenience store industry, will be featured speakers at the second-annual Convenience Store News Fuels & Tech Summit.

Petrowski is the former CEO of Gulf Oil LP and Cumberland Farms Inc. and current managing partner of investment firm Mercantor Partners. Collupy is the former IT leader of The Pantry Inc. and now an executive consultant with W. Capra Consulting Group, a leading retail technology, payments, security and strategic implementation firm.

The 2015 CSNews Fuels & Tech Summit will be held Dec. 7-8 at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa in Riviera Beach, Fla. The event is designed to explore both present and future challenges in two connected and rapidly evolving areas with enormous implications on the future of convenience store retailing.

The Summit brings together an exclusive group of the convenience industry’s most influential fuels and technology executives and provides a forum to facilitate the exchange of ”ahead of what’s next” insights, innovative concepts, fresh ideas, proven strategies and best-in-class operations tactics from today’s thought leaders. 

This year’s Summit kicks off with a welcome dinner on the evening of Dec. 7, which will feature the presentation of the annual CSNews Technology & Fuels Leadership Awards.

This year’s honorees are:

  • Technology Executive of the Year: Phil Schwartz of Valero
  • Technology Implementation of the Year: 7-Eleven Inc.
  • Alternative Fuels Leader of the Year: Mike Lorenz, Sheetz Inc.
  • Fuels Innovator of the Year: Sunoco

The Summit will continue on Tuesday, Dec. 8, with general sessions exploring the major issues and challenges impacting c-stores over the next several years, including such topics as the future of fuels, loyalty programs and mobile payments.

There will also be two separate concurrent tracks: one will focus on motor fuels, covering current challenges as well as the evolving market for alternative fuels; the other track will focus on technology, covering such topics as card payments, data security, PCI compliance, POS systems, business intelligence, EMV implementation and other key technology challenges in the year ahead.

In addition, this year’s Fuels & Tech Summit will include presentations on two new, exclusive CSNews research reports: the 2015 Motor Fuels Study and the 2015 Technology Study. Expert presentations and open discussion will follow the presentations of these proprietary, annual research studies.

Participation in the CSNews Fuels & Tech Summit is limited to 12 retailers from the fuels side and 12 retailers from the technology side.
