Love’s I-40 CNG Network to Keep Growing

OKLAHOMA CITY — Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores will add fast-fill compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling to its existing West Memphis, Ark., location. Once open in the spring, it will become Love's seventh location along a 1,350-mile stretch of Interstate 40 to offer CNG.

Love's also plans to offer CNG at four more I-40 locations further into the future: Webbers Falls, Texas; Amarillo, Texas; Albuquerque, N.M., and Williams, Ariz.

“With the opening of this location, professional drivers and motorists can travel more than 1,300 miles along I-40 between West Memphis, Ark., and Williams, Ariz., using Love’s CNG,” said co-CEO Frank Love. “Expanding our offerings along this major interstate and others across the country, makes CNG a viable option for more types of trucking applications.”

Fast-fill CNG allows a heavy-duty truck's 100-gallon-equivalent tank to be refueled in 10 minutes or less.

CNG is touted as a locally abundant, cheaper and more environmentally friendly fuel compared to traditional petroleum. The alternative fuel recently has been selling for approximately $1.70 per gallon in several markets.

Oklahoma City-based Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores operates more than 300 locations in 39 states. It employs approximately 10,000 workers and has annual revenues of more than $26 billion.
