Kwik Trip Testing At-Pump TV Screens

ONALASKA, Wis. — Watching television at the fuel pump could become more commonplace in the Midwest.

La Crosse, Wis.-based Kwik Trip Inc. is considering installing TV screens on its gas pumps that show news, weather and ads with printable coupons in an effort to attract more traffic at the pumps and increase sales in the stores, according to a report by WXOW.

Currently, two Kwik Trip locations on Sand Lake Road and Main Street in Onalaska are conducting a six-month trial of the TV screens.

“We really want to see if it improves the customer experience while you’re fueling. It’s kind of a, not necessarily boring experience, but you don’t do much there so if we can get some news, commercials there to entertain our guests a little bit, that’s definitely something we want to do,” said David Jackson, social media/new media specialist at Kwik Trip.

If the trial is successful, Kwik Trip hopes to have screens installed at all 435 of its locations by 2017.
