Kroger to Repair Engines Damaged by Gasoline Mix-Up

The Kroger Co. will pay for engine repairs for motorists who filled up their tanks at a gas station in New Haven, Ind. where diesel fuel was accidentally mixed with gasoline, according to CSNews' sister publication Progressive Grocer.

The fuel mix-up happened last Monday, when crews refilled the underground tanks, a Kroger spokeswoman said. Kroger promised to pay for repairs to affected cars at a local auto dealer.

Customers began calling the gas station on Tuesday morning to report problems with their vehicles after they had filled up their tanks with either diesel fuel, mid-grade, or regular gasoline. Customers who filled up with premium gasoline were not affected.
