Kroger and BI-LO Extend Fuel Rewards

ROANOKE, Va. -- Kroger customers were presented with a new Fuel Saver Rewards program that awards 10 cents off per gallon for every $100 dollars spent at Kroger stores.

"The more they shop at Kroger, the more they can save at the fuel pumps. If they do everything, they can save up to $1.50 a gallon. Essentially, it’s a way to help our customers during this tough economic time," Kroger spokesperson, Carl York, told WDBJ-TV.

Customers with a 1-2-3 Kroger Rewards MasterCard can realize additional savings at seven Kroger gas stations from New River Valley to Smith Mountain Lake.

In related news, BI-LO launched a new generation loyalty program, My BI-LO BONUSCARD with fuelperks! Charleston area residents will now save money on gas when purchasing groceries.

For every $50 a shopper spends at BI-LO, customers receive a 5-cent per gallon reward applied to their new My BI-LO BONUSCARD. Points are redeemed by swiping the My BI-LO BONUSCARD in the card reader at any one of the 23 local participating Sunoco stations, noted BI-LO executive vice president, Tye Anthony.

The price per gallon will automatically roll down by the amount of fuelperks! rewards earned on all grades (up to 20 gallons per visit) of Sunoco gasoline.

"The fuelperks! program is a valuable addition to our ongoing efforts to help consumers save money," Anthony said in a statement. "Our customers can continue to rely on BI-LO for every day grocery savings with their new My BI-LO BONUSCARD, and now there’s the added bonus of saving on gas as well."

In total, 17 BI-LO stores in the Charleston area and Hartsville are participating in the program.
