Giant Food Gives Customers Another Way to Save on Fuel

LANDOVER, Md. — Giant Food, which already offers its customers a proprietary Gas Rewards program, has joined Excentus' Fuel Rewards program, too.

The Fuel Rewards program is a coalition loyalty program that enables shoppers to earn fuel savings from multiple participating retailers. Savings can be earned by shopping online, dining out, booking travel, and more. A complete list of participating retailers can be found at www.fuelrewards.com.

Through its existing Gas Rewards program, Giant cardholders have been able to save up to $1.50 per gallon on fuel at Giant and participating Shell gas stations. Now, with the addition of Fuel Rewards, Giant customers can unlock even greater savings from participating retailers, in addition to points earned through Giant purchases.

In addition to a one-time-use discount on up to 20 gallons of fuel per purchase per vehicle, Fuel Rewards members get Instant Gold Status, saving at least 5 cents per gallon up to 20 gallons on every fill-up with Shell fuel.

“Customers love our Gas Rewards program and our relationship with Shell, so we are thrilled to expand the program to provide even more savings,” said Giant President Gordon Reid. “We are always looking for new ways to help our customers save money, and with this new offering, they will now see more savings at their local gas stations.”

To opt in to the Fuel Rewards program, Giant customers must first sign up for an online Giant account, through which they can track their savings. Savings can be redeemed at Giant gas stations and participating Shell-branded stations via a Giant card or phone number associated with their online account.

Giant, an Ahold USA company, operates 167 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C.
