Gas Prices Drop 7 Cents Over Previous Two Weeks

NEW YORK -- The average U.S. price of regular unleaded gasoline fell to $2.49 per gallon, a drop of nearly 7 cents in the last two weeks, according to The Associated Press.

However, U.S. average gasoline prices edged up on Monday to $2.50 a gallon, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report. A month ago, gasoline cost $2.65 a gallon. A year ago, gasoline cost an average of $3.97 a gallon at the pump.

The average price for a gallon of mid-grade was $2.62 as of Sunday, according to the Lundberg Survey. Premium was priced at $2.74.

Jackson, Miss., had the lowest average price at $2.22 for a gallon of regular unleaded. Honolulu was the highest priced at $3.03 per gallon for regular grade.
