TravelCenters to Dish Up More Godfather's Pizza Locations

Number of c-stores with the offering will double.

WESTLAKE, Ohio — TA Operating, a division of TravelCenters of America LLC, plans to more than double its pizza offering by opening 40 new Minit Mart stores that feature Godfather's Pizza Express this year.

This will bring the chain's number of c-stores that offer Godfather's Pizza from 38 to 78. The new locations will be in and around Kansas City, Mo., Lexington, Ky., and Illinois.

TA Operating opened four limited-service stores with Godfather's Pizza Express in the St. Joseph/Kansas City area earlier in 2016. Typical construction and implementation takes approximately 90 days to complete.

"We want to make it easy for pizza fans to get their hands on the food they love the most," said Craig Stanley, category manager of foodservice for Minit Mart. "Families and professionals alike have been requesting greater access to Godfather's Pizza and we're more than happy to give it to them."

Dave Gartlan, vice president of development for Godfather's Pizza added: "The team at TA Operating sure know how to make a quick impact on the communities they conduct business. Their drive and knowledge of the food industry, combined with their focus on service, has contributed to the overall success of our Express model."

TA Operating began partnering with Godfather's Pizza in 2013 in Kentucky. The pizza brand, which has operated for more than 43 years, offers one-of-a-kind specialty pizzas such as the Taco Pie, Classic Combo and Humble Pie by the slice or as large pizzas at Express locations. Combo meals, as well as cheese sticks, breakfast pizza, pepperoni rolls, dessert pizzas, and chicken wings, can be also be added to any order or purchased a la carte.
