Thorntons Signs Bakery Pact With Square Donuts

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Thorntons Inc. customers in Indianapolis are getting a sweet treat in the form of doughnuts and in the shape of squares.

The Louisville-based convenience store retailer and Square Donuts have inked a deal for the Indianapolis-based company to supply products to Thorntons' Indianapolis-area convenience stores. The bakery items are available as of Dec 1.

Through the Square Donut partnership, Thorntons customers can choose classics like Glazed, Chocolate Frosted and Sprinkle, in addition to more unique flavors like Peanut Butter & Jelly and Chocolate Frosted Bavarian Cream. 

Square Donuts are available for 99 cents, and are made fresh by the supplier and delivered to Thorntons daily.

Thorntons signed a similar accord in October with Tampa, Fla.-based Alessi Bakery, CSNews Online previously reported. As of Oct. 1, Alessi products, including a variety of doughnuts, pastries and other baked goods, are available at Thorntons' Florida c-stores. All bakery items are made fresh by Alessi and delivered daily.

Louisville-based Thorntons Inc. operates more than 180 c-stores in Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Florida.
