SARATONG SPRINGS, N.Y. — Stewart's Shops Corp. and its customers are raising a mug to Earth Day this Saturday.
In recognition of the day, customers can bring any refillable travel mug to a Stewart's Shops convenience store on April 22 and fill up with free coffee. They can choose from a variety of hot coffee flavors including Stewart's House Blend, French Vanilla, Hazelnut, Richer Roast, and the seasonal Butterscotch Toffee coffee.
Hot tea and hot chocolate are also free with a travel mug, according to the retailer. The promotion runs all day.
Stewart's Shops Earth Day coffee special is just one way the c-store chain works to reduce waste and conserve energy. Its other green initiatives include:
- Reusable containers to deliver goods
- Solar panels at its plant, saving roughly $40,000 in energy costs annually
- Recycling of more than 4 million pounds of waste annually
- Reusing ground-up excess plastic
