WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. -- The Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning, sponsored by Whitehouse Station, N.J.-based Quick Chek Food Stores Inc., was held last month in Readington, N.J. The festival featured more than 125 sport and special-shaped balloons, barnstorming and vintage airplane exhibits and live entertainment.

A portion of all proceeds from the event is donated to the Children's Miracle Network, which funds two pediatric hospitals in New Jersey. Last year, more than $150,000 was raised for local charities.

This year's Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning, founded in 1989, attracted more than more than 150,000 people from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

Quick Chek, which operates more than 100 convenience stores, has helped grow the festival in stature both nationally and internationally. Recently the Festival was designated as one of the top one hundred events in North America by the American Bus Association and also was the recipient of the Governor's Award for the Best Special Event in New Jersey.
