Little General Signs Development Deal With Dunkin' Donuts

CANTON, Mass. -- Dunkin' Donuts signed a multi-unit store development agreement with Little General Store Inc. for three new quick-service restaurants (QSRs) throughout West Virginia.

While the exact locations of the new restaurants were not specified, Dunkin' Donuts stated that the first restaurant is planned to open in 2014 and the remainder by 2018.

"We are excited to expand Dunkin' Donuts' presence throughout West Virginia and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work and visit here," stated Greg Darby, Dunkin' Donuts franchisee. "We have a passion and loyalty for the brand and look forward to the opening of our Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the years to come."

Dunkin' Donuts' goal is to double the number of its restaurants in the United States over the next 20 years. To reach this goal, it has tailored development approaches designed to suit the growth opportunities and consumer needs of individual markets, the company stated.

"We believe these new franchise partners will cultivate lasting customers relationships and become integral parts of their local communities."

Beckley, W.V.-based Little General is currently prospecting additional development areas throughout West Virginia, according to the news release. The c-store retailer currently operates more than 60 QSRs in the state and owns more than 80 gas and convenience operations.

Headquartered in Canton, Mass., Dunkin' Donuts operates more than 10,000 QSRs in 32 countries worldwide.
