Hot 'N Spicey Brands Acquired by Home Market Foods

NORWOOD, Mass. — Mergers and acquisitions continue to be a hotbed of activity among convenience store suppliers.

Home Market Foods has acquired Hot 'N Spicey Inc., best known for its Bahama Mama brand of premium sausages and its Gourmet To Go brand of sausages and frankfurters.

"We are honored to become the new owner of these great brands," said Douglas Atamian, CEO of Home Market Foods. "This acquisition will enable us to further enhance our offering of quality products in both the foodservice and retail channels and accelerate growth across our branded portfolio."

The company plans to leverage its infrastructure to expand the reach of the newly acquired brands to more consumers, according to Wes Atamian, president of Home Market Foods. In addition, the combined team will be focused on bringing innovation to these categories.

Columbus, Ohio-based Hot 'N Spicey's culture of dedication to producing the highest-quality products aligns perfectly with the core values of Home Market Foods, added Lisa Jackson, president of Hot 'N Spicey.

The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. 

Norwood-based Home Market Foods is a producer of high-quality, meat-based food products. Its portfolio is led by the Cooked Perfect and RollerBites brands.
