Flash Foods Honored

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Pinnacle Corp. yesterday said Flash Foods Inc. had won the first annual Pinnacle Excellence in Technology Award. The award recognizes the Waycross, Ga.-based chain for its expansive use of technology solutions to enhance the company's operations and profitability. The award was presented at Pinnacle's User Conference earlier this month.

"Flash Foods is excited to have been presented with the Pinnacle 2003 Overall Excellence award," said chief information officer Jenny Bullard said. "Over the past few years, our technology staff's goal has been to achieve the greatest benefit possible for Flash Foods by the implementation and utilization of Pinnacle's software products. Being recognized as a leader in the industry while doing this is certainly an honor. "

According to Pinnacle President Bob Johnson, Flash Foods, which operates 157 stores in Georgia and Florida, not only employs an enterprise-wide suite of applications to drive efficiencies throughout its system, but also pioneered focused solutions such as computer-assisted ordering to better manage inventory and shrink.

"Flash Foods successfully implements state-of-the-art technology solutions as a regular part of its business strategy," Johnson said. "I'm aware of no other retailer that does more with technology to improve their business processes and results. What's more, they consistently support strategic development initiatives that ultimately work to the advantage of the entire Pinnacle user community."

Pinnacle also recognized two category winners at the awards ceremony. Love's Country Stores won for Excellence in Innovation, and King & King took first-place honors for Excellence in Collaboration.
