Capital Oil & Gas to Acquire 20 Mel's Pizza Express Sites

HIALEAH, Fla. -- Capital Oil & Gas Inc., a convenience store operator based here, entered negations with quick-service restaurant (QSR) franchise Mel's Pizza to acquire and develop 20 new locations in the state.

Capital Oil retained Alpiza Construction Co. to evaluate and design the first two locations, in Kendal Lakes and Miami Gardens, according to the company.

"The company expects and believes that these additional locations will add significant revenue—gross several millions of dollars in revenues—towards its bottom line, as they are a well recognized brand in the Florida market and the demand for pizza has increased with the economic down turn," Ariel Rodriguez president of Capital Oil, said in a statement. A call to the company for more information was not returned by press time.

Capital Oil & Gas operates retail gas stations, c-stores and fast food operations throughout Florida.
