Brakebush Cooking Up 90th Anniversary Celebration

WESTFIELD, Wis. — Brakebush Brothers Inc. is celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2015 with community-wide celebrations throughout the year.

Founded in 1925 by brothers Bill and Otto Brakebush, the company started out as an egg distributor to the greater Wisconsin and Chicago regions that operated out of a single Chevrolet truck. Today, Brakebush Brothers is a state-of-the-art poultry processing plant that delivers high-quality chicken products throughout the United States, according to the company.

In commemoration of the milestone anniversary, Brakebush Brothers is planning an open house at its Westfield facility on April 29 that will be open to past employees, family members and members of the community. They will be able to view old pictures, videos and enjoy product sampling.

Other anniversary events will include sponsorship of the University of Wisconsin's pep band performance at Westfield Dairy-Lishus Days in June; a family event at the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers minor league baseball game on June 27; and sponsorship of the Marquette County Fair fireworks in July.

Employees and community members will also get to share their Brakebush knowledge by answering monthly trivia questions in the local newspaper.
