Select General Mills Granola Nut Clusters Recalled

MINNEAPOLIS -- General Mills Inc. is recalling select Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters because they may be tainted with salmonella, according to an Associated Press report.

The company said the source of the potential contamination is pecans provided by an unidentified supplier.

The product is a bag of bite-size granola clusters; the recall applies only to the "Nut Lovers" flavor.

The recall covers products with the following "best if used by" dates: March 7, 2010; March 8, 2010; March 9, 2010; March 10, 2010; and March 11, 2010.

The company says no illnesses have been reported, and no other Nature Valley products are being recalled.
