NEW YORK -- Ritz is No. 1 on the list of U.S. consumers' best-perceived snack brands, according to professional research and consulting organization YouGov. Lay's, Doritos, Fritos and Orville Redenbacher are also highly regarded.
All major snack brands were measured using YouGov BrandIndex's Impression score, which asks surveyed consumers whether they have a "general positive feeling" about a brand. Results are for adults 18-plus years old, the company stated.
Wheat Thins, Cheetos, Tostitos, Pringles and Triscuit brands rounded out the top 10.
Fritos and Pringles moved up one slot each on the list since one year ago, and Orville Redenbacher and Triscuit fell one slot each. Kettle Brand Chips improved most in consumer perception since last year. Additionally, while men and women both agree that Ritz and Lay's are their favorite brands, men rated Doritos higher than women, and Fritos and Orville Redenbacher lower.
