Kwik Trip Adds Cheese Jerky

GLENDALE, Wis. -- Kwik Trip Inc., headquartered in La Crosse, Wis., is now selling Snack Patrol's Original Cheese Jerky in all its 350-plus stores, according to Snack Patrol founder and CEO Ross Segel. The product is merchandised in the c-store retailer's fresh grab-and-go section, priced at 99 cents per 1.5-ounce piece.

Kwik Trip decided to put Cheese Jerky in the fresh case planogram after determining it was a low risk opportunity. "It's a new type of snack with a long refrigerated shelf life that follows consumer trends and has great product appeal for their existing customers," said Segel, who also goes by the title, Chief Snack Technician at Snack Patrol.

Cheese Jerky combines premium shredded beef jerky with award-winning farmstead string cheese. The result is a tasty yet nutritious snack food, according to the company. Since its launch into Kwik Trip convenience stores in March, sales were immediate. Kwik Trip reports, according to Snack Patrol, that the product is selling "like hotcakes." Cheese Jerky has continued to average well over a unit per store, per day.

"People are tired of seeing the same old snacks, which makes them curious to try Cheese Jerky. This makes our initial movement typically very strong. Ongoing, we have very loyal fans and repeat customers because quality has always been our top priority," said Segel. "Kwik Trip has been a terrific success, and we're very happy about our partnership with them and with all of our retailers."
