Just Born Celebrates Peanut Chews' National Launch

Ross Born and his cousin David Shaffer, co-CEOs, and Samuel L. Torrence, president of Just Born Inc., kicked off trading last week at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange to celebrate the national launch of Peanut Chews.

Last month, the privately held Just Born introduced Peanut Chews nationwide, after acquisition of the Philadelphia-based Goldenberg Candy Co., maker of the regional favorite. Peanut Chews come in two flavors, Original Dark and Milk Chocolatey.

“We know that there are many ‘displaced’ Easterners out West thrilled to finally be getting Peanut Chews at stores nearby," Born said. "However, we think new consumers will also quickly become part of our family of fans. While so many trends emanate from West to East, we are proud to initiate one which we are confident will be an Eastern U.S. icon moving West to rave reviews.”

The most popular sizes of Peanut Chews are a 2-ounce bar with a suggest retail price of 75 cents and a 3.3-ounce king size bar with an SRP of $1.09. Individually wrapped Peanut Chews are also available in an 8-ounce bag with an SRP of $1.99 or a 14-ounce bag with an SRP of $2.99.

Just Born is based in Bethlehem, Pa., and is known for its Marshmallow Peeps, Hot Tamales, Mike & Ike and other candies.
