Daelmans Stroopwafels

The Dutch cookies are filled with caramel, cinnamon and Bourbon vanilla.

Dutch bakery group Daelmans, in conjunction with its U.S. distributing partner The Brand Passport Inc., is making its famous Daelmans Stroopwafels (pronounced stroop-waa-fells) available to convenience stores. Stroopwafels, dubbed “Coffee’s Best Friend,” are available in three varieties — caramel, honey and maple — and come in both jumbo and miniature sizes for snacking. According to the maker, stroopwafels are particularly delicious when placed atop a cup of coffee for about two minutes, allowing the heat to warm the biscuit, soften the caramel, and release the natural aroma of cinnamon and real Bourbon vanilla. Single-serve and two-pack Jumbo Stroopwafels are packed in easy-to-merchandise trays that convert into counter displays. The company is also offering a program for top convenience chains, which includes two-tier racks with customized graphics featuring the retailer’s coffee cup and logo. Made with only natural ingredients, the bakery item contains no artificial flavors, colors, preservatives or trans fat.
