Ticketed Youth Will Get Free Froster

Ontario, Canada -- Alimentation Couche-Tard's Mac's Convenience Stores is partnering with York Regional Police to support a new youth program called Operation Freeze.

According to The King Township Sentinal, police officers will reward young persons who they witness displaying good behavior by offering them a Froster coupon for a free drink at Mac’s stores.

Examples of behavior that could earn a free drink include picking up trash, observing crosswalk rules, participating in community activities or helping another member of the community.

More than 10,000 coupons will be distributed across Ontario during Operation Freeze which will run through the rest of the school year and the summer as well.

"These coupons will be excellent tools for police officers who are patrolling our communities," said Sean Sportun, manager of loss prevention and security for Mac's Canada. "It's an icebreaker, a way to initiate communication in a non law-enforcement setting."

Though the reason for being "ticketed" may vary, the end result is a free Froster beverage.
