Sunoco Takes Craft Beer Exchange to South Carolina

PHILADELPHIA -- Sunoco Inc.'s Craft Beer Exchange program is heading to the Palmetto State.

Today, the retailer announced that its Craft Beer Exchange, which features a selection of up to 12 rotating craft beers available to-go in 64-ounce growlers, will be featured in 13 APlus convenience stores in coastal South Carolina. The locations are in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties.

"We have decided to expand the Craft Beer Exchange to South Carolina based on the success we had in multiple New York markets over the last six months," said Wendy Lyman, Sunoco's beverage category manager. "The Charleston market presents an excellent platform to expand Craft Beer Exchange at APlus because of our current assets, market density in the region, excellent employees and a local customer base that enjoys craft beer."

Sunoco's Craft Beer Exchange first launched at its APlus convenience stores in Buffalo, N.Y., last summer. Beer selection varies based on seasonality, but the program has featured beers from microbreweries such as Holy City, Sweetwater, Allagash, Abita, Dogfish Head, Victory, New Belgium and Palmetto.
