Stripes Honors Late Singer's Legacy With Limited-Edition Cups

DALLAS — Stripes Convenience Stores will honor the late Tejano music star Selena with a line of limited-edition cups.

The convenience store chain worked with the singer's sister, Suzette Quintanilla, to create two designs to celebrate the third annual Fiesta de La Flor Festival, which honors Selena's legacy every March.

Stripes is the La Plaza Food Truck Court sponsor for the event.

"Our guests are at the center of all that we do and we know that honoring Selena's legacy is incredibly meaningful to her fans," said Eduardo Pereda, vice president of marketing convenience brands for Stripes parent company Sunoco LP. "We are honored to build on the success of Fiesta de la Flor in this special way. These commemorative cups are a unique opportunity to show our support and starting March 1 our guests can pick them up at our participating stores."

Fans will be able to purchase the commemorative cups for $2.99 each at participating Stripes stores now through April 4, or while supplies last. Locations where the cups are available include c-stores in Corpus Christi, the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo, Houston and select stores in Midland and Odessa, Texas, the company said. A portion of the cup sales will go to the Selena Foundation.

Stripes will feature two of its Laredo Taco Company food trucks at this year’s Fiesta de la Flor presented by CITGO on March 24-25. The two-day festival is produced by the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau with the financial help from numerous sponsors.

A subsidiary of Sunoco LP, Stripes Convenience Stores operate more than 700 convenience stores in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Restaurant service is available at more than 450 locations, primarily under the retailer's proprietary Laredo Taco Co. brand.
