Speedway Gets Onboard With Dr Pepper Uber Promo

ENON, Ohio — Dr Pepper Snapple Group’s Dr Pepper got Speedway in on the action of its exclusive sweepstakes promotion with Uber.

As part of Dr Pepper’s national “Buy. Text. Ride.” promotion, Speedway shoppers can earn a $5 gift code to ride-hailing service Uber by buying two eligible SKUs from the brand and then texting sweepstakes code “DrPepper” along with the UPCs to a designated number. 

The promotion runs through May 15. The gift codes are valid through June 30.

This is not the first time Dr Pepper, Speedway and Uber have partnered this year. Back in April, Speedway's Speedy Rewards cardholders were automatically entered into an exclusive sweepstakes with the purchase of two 20-ounce Dr Pepper SKUs. The grand prize was a $1,000 SpeedyCash store gift card. A corresponding instant-win game awarded up to 80 coupons per day for a $15 Uber card.

Similar to Speedway, convenience store chain Circle K also teamed up with Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Uber for a special promotion tied to the national “Buy. Text. Ride.” promotion.  As Convenience Store News previously reported, Circle K customers were able to earn “Pepper Prize” points by purchasing a 20-ounce Dr Pepper SKU and scanning a barcode found in the Circle K mobile app. 

Customers could redeem their points for a number of rewards, including a 20-ounce Dr Pepper, two grill items, a $10 Circle K gift card, or a $50 Uber gift card.
