Sheetz Stocks Alcohol in Home State

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz, operator of more than 330 convenience stores, will announce a new category in its latest "convenience restaurant" store concept -- malt beverages. The category is available for sale just as the location here received a state license to sell alcoholic beverages, including beer.

Sales of alcohol will begin after the 1:30 p.m. announcement, Monica Jones, Sheetz spokeswoman, told the Altooona Mirror.

Following the announcement by company president Stan Sheetz at its convenience restaurant store, audience members will be able to participate in a training program that all Sheetz employees must undergo to ring alcohol sales in its stores. The classes, called Sheetz Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) and Training for Intervention ProcedureS (TIPS), will show the community the steps Sheetz is taking to responsibly sell alcohol in the state.
