Sheetz Continues Southern Virginia Growth

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. opened its newest location yesterday in Waynesboro, Va., boosting the convenience chain's store count to 345, and its statewide total to 57, the company stated.

To celebrate the opening, employees hosted a grand opening ceremony, complete with a ribbon cutting yesterday, at 3:45 p.m. As part of the celebration, the company donated to the Waynesboro Family YMCA to fund its youth athletic programs, according to the company.

"We are thrilled to join the Waynesboro community and be a part of the events that are important to them," Louie Sheetz, executive vice president of marketing for Sheetz, said in a statement. "Sheetz has a long tradition of being involved in youth-centered activities so today, we are happy to make a commitment to Waynesboro to support educational and athletic programs for children of the community."

The new store in Waynesboro, Va., features made-to-order cold and toasted subs, a variety of salads, along with french fries, onion rings, chicken fingers, burgers and more, the company stated.

The store will also feature its full-service Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, an espresso and smoothie bar staffed by a trained barista, according to the company. There, customers can order hand-made specialty coffee drinks including lattes, cappuccinos and mochas in a variety of ways -- hot, frozen or iced. Frozen fruit smoothies are also available at the Sheetz Bros. Coffeez bar.

For on-the-go customers, the store offers premium brewed self-serve coffees made from 100 percent Arabica beans in a variety of flavors such as Breakfast Blend, Serious Dark Roast, 100 percent Colombian and Vanilla Nut Cream.

Like all other Sheetz stores, the Waynesboro, Va., location features touch-screen order kiosks where customers place their food and beverage orders. In addition, a surcharge-free ATM and a variety of retailer gift and phone cards are available for the convenience of its customers, the company stated.
