Rutter's Brings Back "Fuel Up Free" Campaign

YORK, Pa. -- Just in time for the busy summer travel season, Rutter's is bringing back its "Fuel Up Free!" gas giveaway that will reward four grand-prize winners free gas for three years.

"There's been a lot of talk about giving consumers a break from high gas prices, but Rutter's again is doing something about it," Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter's Farm Stores, said in a released statement.

The giveaway runs May 26 to Aug. 24 with the grand-prize drawing taking place on June 23, July 14, Aug. 4 and Sept. 15. Hartman explained that with the purchase of a weekly special product, a customer will receive an entry blank. The more specials that customers purchase, the more chances they have to win.

Participating sponsors include Pepsi-Cola, Davis Beverages, Monster Energy, Snapple, Canada Dry, Jack and Jill Ice Cream, Edy's Grand Ice Cream, QTG-Quaker, Red Bull, Nestle Waters, Rutter's Dairy, S&D Coffee, Kunzler Meats and M&T Bank.

Each of the winners will receive a Rutter's fleet card with a dollar amount based on the average retail price of unleaded gas at Rutter's store on the day of each grand-prize drawing multiplied by 15 gallons of gas per week for 156 weeks (three years), explained Hartman.

"We awarded free gas to seven customers in the first two years of the giveaway and look forward to doing the same for four more customers this year," Hartman said in a released statement.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Pennsylvania or Maryland at the time of entry. Official giveaway rules are available at all Rutter's and at www.rutters.com.
