Rutter's Awards Final Gas Giveaway Grand Prize

YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's, operator of 51 convenience stores based here, awarded its fourth and final grand prize in its Fuel Up Free! gas giveaway to Steve Slyder, a York Township, Pa., resident, the company stated.

The prize will come in handy when Slyder takes a family vacation to West Virginia in October. Slyder estimated that he entered the giveaway 20 times, all at a Rutter's store in York Township, Pa., the company stated. Slyder and the other grand-prize winners won free gas for three years -- collectively worth $25,823.25, the company stated.

The three previous winners are all from York County. Those winners were Mary Wherley of Wrightsville; Jennifer Anderson of Newberry Township; and Chad Marsteller of Shrewsbury.

Rutter's Fuel Up Free! promotion was in effect from May 28 to Aug. 26, and offered food or beverage specials, which customers could purchase to receive an entry form. The more specials purchased, the more chances a customer had to win, according to the company.

A new element for the 2007 contest included an additional chance to receive an entry form by showing an M&T Bank ATM receipt to a Rutter's clerk, the company stated. Rutter's offers no-fee M&T ATMs in all its stores.

Participating sponsors for the giveaway included Aquafina, Ben & Jerry's, Canada Dry, Edy's Grand Ice Cream, Haagen-Dazs, Kunzler, M&T Bank, Monster Energy, Nestle Waters, Pepsi-Cola, Propel, Red Bull, Rutter's Dairy, S&D Coffee, 7UP and Snapple, according to the company.
