Rutter's Awards 2nd Gas Giveaway

YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores awarded its second customer with free gas for three years as part of the company's "Fuel Up Free!" giveaway. Officials presented the award to CPA Jennifer Anderson last week at the Rutter’s store in Etters, York County, the company reported.

Anderson, whose Newberry Township home is only one mile from the store, said she had entered the contest four or five times, always at her local Rutter's. "I'm there all the time. It's the only place I get gas," she said in a statement.

"Fuel Up Free!" began May 28 and runs through Aug. 26. Four customers will win free gas for three years, with the remaining grand-prize drawings scheduled for Aug. 15 and Sept. 11. The first winner was Mary Wherley of Wrightsville, York County.

During the giveaway, Rutter's offers weekly food or beverage specials. With each purchase of a special, a customer receives an entry blank. The more specials customers purchase, the more chances they have to win. New for 2007, customers also can obtain an entry blank by showing an M&T Bank ATM receipt to a Rutter's clerk. Rutter's offers no-surcharge M&T ATMs in each of its stores, the company reported.

Participating sponsors are Aquafina, Ben & Jerry's, Canada Dry, Edy's Grand Ice Cream, Haagen-Dazs, Kunzler, M&T Bank, Monster Energy, Nestle Waters, Pepsi-Cola, Propel, Red Bull, Rutter's Dairy, S&D Coffee, 7UP and Snapple.

Family-owned and third-generation-managed, York-based Rutter's operates 51 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and Lancaster counties.
