Rutter's To Award Customers Free Gas For a Year

YORK, Pa. -- This summer, Rutter’s Farm Stores is giving away free gasoline for one year to eight customers as part of the chain’s annual "Fuel Up Free!" contest, which returns from Mon., May 25 through Sun., Aug. 30. A ninth customer will win a Harley-Davidson Iron 883 motorcycle, courtesy of Rutter’s and hot dog maker Kunzler & Co. The winners will be chosen through random drawings, according to the company

"In these tough economic times, everyone is looking for that little extra bargain or special deal," said Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter’s Farm Stores. "So, we’ve doubled the number of free gas prizes from last year’s contest and, with the help of our friends at Kunzler, added the Harley giveaway. We expect to see a record number of entries given that there will be so much more to win."

Rutter’s offers weekly food and beverage specials, and with each purchase of a special, a customer will receive an entry blank. The more specials a customer purchases, the more chances they have to win, according to the c-store chain.

The gas winners will be selected in eight separate drawings held throughout the contest period, and the Harley winner will be chosen from among all of the non-gas-winning entries at the end of the contest.

Participating sponsors include Pepsi-Cola, Coca-Cola, Cadbury Canada Dry, Function Beverage, Snapple, Red Bull, Edy’s Grand Ice Cream, Jack and Jill Ice Cream, Pennsylvania Lottery, Kunzler & Co., S&D Coffee and Rutter’s Dairy.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Pennsylvania or Maryland at the time of entry. No purchase is necessary to participate. Official giveaway rules will be available at all Rutter’s stores and online at www.rutters.com.
