Miller Brewing Launches Miller REACH

Miller Brewing Company presented more than $1.8 miillion in investment to approximately 35 community organizations and initiatives as it officially unveiled Miller REACH™ as the “new brand” for its corporate social investing.

At a reception in Miller’s Frederick J. Miller Pub, more than 100 representatives of local community-based organizations helped Miller launch Miller REACH™ as its new framework for investing in the community through grants, partnerships, in-kind donations and volunteer efforts all focused on causes of importance to Miller and its communities. This marks the first official launch of the program in Wisconsin and the first presentation of a block of Miller REACH™ investments.

“Ultimately there can be no choice between doing the right thing for the company and the right thing for society. It is with a deep commitment to this principle that Miller Brewing Company presents Miller REACH™ -- the corporate social investment platform that will guide our efforts to help our community reach important milestones on the issues on which Miller and Milwaukee have a shared commitment,” stated Kim Marotta, Miller Brewing Company director of corporate social responsibility.

With Miller REACH™, Miller will reaching out to help its brewery communities reach new possibilities and progress on five causes that form the acronym REACH and give the new program its name.

Miller will be dedicating its corporate social investments to the Miller REACH™ causes in its brewery communities of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Eden, North Carolina; Trenton, Ohio; Albany, Georgia; Fort Worth, Texas; and Irwindale, California. A complete overview of the program and its grant application guidelines are available at www.millerbrewing.com within the site’s “In the Community” section.

"We have been brewing great beer and helping build strong communities for 150 years. We continue that legacy today with a new approach to investing and partnering in our communities, stated Marotta. “As we announce our first round of grants, we can already sense the community’s enthusiasm and endorsement for the progress we will reach together."
