Hot Stuff Foods Unveils "Store of the Future"

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Hot Stuff Foods unveiled its "Store of the Future," a new food solutions initiative designed to provide multiple food solutions or "touch points" for increased convenience and store profitability, according to Neal Hollingsworth, Hot Stuff’s executive vice president of marketing.

"The six point system maximizes retailers’ response to the customers’ impulse and convenience buying habits with six branded touch points. In addition, these touch points are designed to exceed the operator’s expectations of margins and profitability. Simply put, we’re placing our highest quality made-fresh-for-you products within immediate reach of the customer to give top-of-mind awareness and ease of access right where the customer needs it," Hollingsworth said in a recently released statement.

These touch points include:

-- Primary Foodservice Counter (Foodservice Focus Point): includes fresh-made Hot Stuff Pizza (both baked fresh on premise for grab-n-go consumption and new take-n-bake), along with fresh, made-for-you subs.

-- Deli Case: includes made-fresh daily grab-n-go deli sandwiches, take-n-bake Cinnobabies, take-n-bake cookies, Fresh Family Paks and deli bundling area (i.e. an express all-in-one stop where customers can grab a fresh-made sandwich, grab-n-go beverage and chips). The Deli Case touch point offers a branded take-n-bake extension for pre-made customer convenience, enhanced labor return, low price customer convenience and increased economies, according to the company.

-- Frozen Food Section: includes frozen pizza, new family packaging options such as packaged corn dogs and cheesy garlic bread. Hot Stuff said this provides 24/7 brand extension and customer convenience, especially for late-night and off-peak hours, take-home quality, zero labor and high margins.

-- Premium Roller Grill: includes stadium-style brats, hot-n-spicy and corn dog premium roller grill options. This offers the customer a premium product and the operator real margins and an increased profit return for the space provided.

-- Hot Beverage Counter: this extension of the primary counter offers the customer immediate access to fresh-made products during all dayparts including Cinnobabies, Sweet Cobblerz, sandwiches and pizza. This compliments the current beverage program and provides customer daypart convenience, labor-friendly environment, impulse purchase point, branding and product real estate extension with higher margins.

-- Checkout Counter: features 24-hour daypart directed items, providing impulse convenience, grab-n-go, and branding extensions, the company stated.

"Our six-point system delivers on all dayparts at the touch points where the customer is shopping, enhancing their experience and increasing the franchisee’s profitability," Hollingsworth said, noting in developing the system, Hot Stuff Foods conducted research across the country to examine the purchasing habits of the c-store customer in order to better provide overall consulting to their franchise partners.

"From our in-the-field research observing the grab-n-go customer to the take-away at NACS and the thorough feedback we received from our current franchise base, we are very excited about the future of Hot Stuff’s Store-of-the-Future," he said. "What this delivers to the foodservice-committed operator is a one-stop-shop providing industry forward margins, profitability and a customer-friendly environment from which to grow."

Hot Stuff Foods franchises and/or licenses its branded food concepts including Hot Stuff Foods, SmashHits Deli and Hot Stuff Food On the Go in more than 1,400 locations throughout the U.S. Canada, Europe and Asia. Hot Stuff Foods also offers Lettieri’s Food To Go through distributors across the U.S.
