Fresh & Easy Grows Wine Selection

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is expanding its wine portfolio with the addition of 130 new selections. The additions bring the number of wines exclusive to Fresh & Easy to 170.

As part of the move, Fresh & Easy has also expanded the popular Big Kahuna line -- a family of wines that has been the retailer's top selling since its introduction in 2007. The Big Kahuna line, which retails for under $3 per bottle, will now include cabernet sauvignon, merlot, rose, shiraz, tempranillo, sweet white and crisp white.

"We're excited to offer our customers the newly expanded and delicious range of wines at incredibly affordable prices," said Richard Wherry, category manager of wine and beer for Fresh & Easy. "Having strong partnerships with local wineries helps us to create these high-quality, award-winning wines that are exclusively offered at Fresh & Easy."

Fresh & Easy's wine portfolio now numbers 450. The retailer's portfolio includes wines crafted in California, Washington, Oregon, Italy, Spain, Australia, France, Chile, Argentina and New Zealand. The wines range in price from $1.99 to $40, with the majority retailing for under $10 per bottle.

Its exclusive wines have earned more than 200 medals and accolades from international wine competitions. This past spring, Fresh & Easy won 39 medals at the 72nd annual Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition, which was judged in May and had nearly 3,200 wines entered from around the world. The entrants were judged by a 64-member panel comprising international wine experts, as CSNews Online previously reported.
