First Drive-Thru for Kwik Trip

ONALASKA, Wis. -- Kwik Trip is branching into the drive-thru business with the opening of a store here, the Holmen Courier reported.

"It will be the first-ever drive-thru for Kwik Trip," Hans Zietlow, director of real estate for Kwik Trip, told the paper.

Slated to open in mid-April, the new store will have a drive-thru window for customers to order coffee and other quick items.

Formerly a Shell station, which included a Taco John's franchise and drive-thru, the Kwik trip store has begun remodeling. The interior was gutted so that other than the drive-thru window, the new location will resemble the other 350-or-so stores in the chain, according to Zietlow.

"We kicked (the drive-thru idea) around a bit, and decided it seemed like a good opportunity for us," Zietlow said. "It's pretty convenient to do, it's a good location, and there seem to be a lot of commuters there. We'll be reaching a part of the area we don't regularly reach."

The store will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the report stated.
