Clark Brands Rolls Out Gift Cards for Single-Store Operators

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Clark Brands is rolling out a new gift card program designed specifically for one-store operators.

The program is powered by RBS WorldPay, which will handle administration, and Clark, which is endorsing and promoting the program to its gasoline customers.

It offers pricing and benefits only available to Clark-branded operators and Clark credit card customers, the company said, and the program is designed as a tool to help single-store retailers differentiate themselves from the competition with a gift card sold and redeemed at their stores.

For most sites, the card can be used on the store’s existing POS device, the company noted. Gift cards may be used at the pump and at stores using the Verifone Ruby POS system.

The gift card program was tested at a number of Clark locations during the past year.

"The prepaid gift card program has increased my sales and improved my business overall," said Pamela Brand, a Clark dealer in Rushford, Minn. "My customers are pleased to know they can pay at the pump with it and my employees like it because it is easy to activate and swipe when a purchase is made. It’s a great tool to increase customer loyalty and grow my business."

The program will be rolled out to Clark’s branded operators and credit card customers over the summer throughout its 28-state market. Stores that sign up for the gift card program will receive marketing materials, training materials, and FAQ and quick reference guides, and retailers will have access to online reporting and a 24/7 help desk. Customers can check card balances 24 hours a day on the Web or by phone.

Clark Brands licenses the Clark gasoline and Four Corners Coffee brands to independent petroleum marketers and retailers. Clark also processes credit card and payment transactions for independents.
