ST. LOUIS — Ordering a Bud Light just got easier.
Anheuser-Busch introduced the Bud Light Button, a beer delivery app that allows users to order Bud Light with a simple tap of the finger on an Android device, with iOS capability coming soon.
The app's initial launch began in Washington, D.C., on Thursday. According to A-B, the Bud Light Button separates itself from competitors as it offers unique "Up for Whatever" experiences that could accompany special deliveries made using the app.
"Some people will get just a little something extra, like Bud Light-branded gear. But once in a while, we're going to deliver a really over-the-top, amazing experience," said Lucas Herscovici, the company's vice president of consumer connections. "Maybe that means we show up with a DJ who turns your gathering of friends into an amazing event. The only way to find out for sure what we're going to do is to grab your phone and use the Bud Light Button."
A-B continues to look for innovation to become the top digital consumer packaged goods company and enhance the consumer experience, the company said.
"Anheuser-Busch always pushes the boundaries in developing services that enable spontaneous fun through 'Up for Whatever' experiences," said Stephen Clements, executive creative director for AKQA, A-B's agency of record. "We're delighted to partner with Anheuser-Busch to bring a fresh, new way to enjoy Bud Light to market."
Consumers can order between one and 100 cases of beer with Bud Light Button and get it delivered in less than an hour by Klink, a new alcohol delivery app that utilizes independent retailers to fulfill deliveries. Once installing the app, users can scan their credit card for easy repeat purchases.
Bud Light was introduced by St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch in 1982.
