7-Eleven Bottled Water Part of Recall

ONTARIO, Calif. — Niagara Bottling LLC is recalling several brands of bottled water, including those marketed under the 7-Eleven brand name.

Ontario-based Niagara Bottling issued the voluntary recall on Friday due to concerns that one of its spring sources is contaminated with E. coli. According to the company, E. coli bacteria were found in the water supply on June 10.

"Out of an abundance of caution and in the interests of maintaining the highest possible standards for product quality, Niagara is issuing a voluntary recall for all spring water products produced from its Pennsylvania manufacturing facilities during the June 10-June 18 timeframe," the company said.

In addition to the 7-Eleven brand, the spring water products at both the Hamburg, Pa., and Allentown, Pa., facilities from that timeframe were sold under the following brand names: Acadia, Acme, Big Y, Best Yet, Niagara, Nature's Place, Pricerite, Superchill, Morning Fresh, Shaws, ShopRite, Western Beef Blue and Wegman's.

According to Niagara, the company has not received any complaints of injury or illness of any kind. It has also discontinued the use of this spring source because the source did not notify Niagara in a timely manner.
