Pops to Fly High at Tulsa International Airport

TULSA, Okla. – Passengers using the Tulsa International Airport will soon have a new option to get their soda fix. Pops, known for its vast selection of carbonated beverages, will open a licensed convenience store in the airport.

"The Pops people are excited to be in Tulsa," Tim Thornton, general manager of Paradies-Novel Idea LLC, an airport concessions vendor, told Tulsa World.

Pops is well known in Oklahoma for carrying more than 600 soda flavors. The Arcadia, Okla.-based retailer’s Tulsa International Airport location will be considerably smaller than its traditional locations, but will still "feature dozens of unique flavors from all over the planet," the news outlet reported.

Pops will be placed in a former Novel Idea bookstore in the airport. The new convenience store will be housed beyond the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint, meaning only ticketed passengers will be able to enter the store.

Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City also features a Pops location.

Pops' flagship store in Arcadia – located on the famed Route 66 – is considered an area landmark. Outside, the store features a sculpture of a soda bottle and straw that soars 66 feet into the sky. In addition, at nighttime, the building offers an LED light show. Inside, glass shelves showcase thousands of soda bottles spanning from floor to ceiling.
