Plaid Pantry Updates Front End

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Plaid Pantry, a chain of 100 convenience stores in Oregon and Washington, selected Ultimate Technology Corp., a provider of open system point-of-sale (POS) hardware solutions, to deploy its UltimaTouch 1800 Series POS Touch Workstation at all Plaid Pantry locations.

"We are excited about the UltimaTouch 1800 workstation for our convenience stores," said Brad Buckmaster, IT manager for Plaid Pantry. "We anticipate that this update will meet our point-of-sale demands and reduce maintenance and failure costs."

As part of the solution, Ultimate Technology performed staging services including application load, custom system settings and solution integration testing. In addition, the system design was modified, allowing Plaid Pantry to lower install, service and software support costs.

"We are pleased to be working with Plaid Pantry to provide a seamless implementation of our state-of-the-art point-of-sale platform," said Eric Swecker, director of channel sales with Ultimate Technology. "Plaid Pantry is sure to benefit from our retail hardened products as well as our lifecycle services."

UltimaTouch 1800 Series offers a hinged design for easy access upgrading and maintenance, along with a 15-inch LCD screen, multiple inputs and outputs and a PCI slot for special applications such as wireless operation.
