Pinnacle and Bit9 Deliver Platform to Address PCI Compliance Standards

ARLINGTON, Texas -- In an effort to address compliance regulations, The Pinnacle Corp., developed a strategic partnership with Bit9 Inc. towill assist retail customers in meeting policies required by the Payment Card Industry's (PCI) Data Security Standards (DSS).

Drew Mize, vice president of product management and Marketing at Pinnacle explained the partnership includes the OEM distribution of the Bit9 Parity enterprise application whitelisting solution with Pinnacle's Palm POS product line. Bit9 Parity, he noted, will provide a heightened level of security and control for Pinnacle retail customers.

"Our relationship with Bit9 has taken our PCI compliance options for Palm to a new level," Mize said in released statement. "This new combined solution allows us to provide our clients with a more flexible and robust set of tools to ensure implementation of our solutions in a PCI compliant environment."

Doug Cahill, vice president of corporate development and product management at Bit9, explained the Bit9 Parity platform enables Pinnacle clients to control and secure their workstations to meet and exceed the requirements of PCI DSS standards while maintaining the Windows user interface. Pinnacle's independent QSA partner, Coalfire Systems, he noted, certified the Palm POS v9.2 solution with Bit9 Parity which ensures the joint Pinnacle-Bit9 solution meets PCI DSS and Visa's Payment Card Best Practice standards requirements.
