Pilot Travel Center Donates $25,000 Worth of Toys

MERIDIAN, Miss. -- Pilot Travel Center's annual "Truckers for Tots" toy drive brought in a hefty $25,000 for underprivileged children, WTOK.com reported.

The Meridian Pilot Travel Center donated $25,000 worth of toys to the Wesley House, a community center that has been helping underprivileged, neglected and abused persons since 1904. The donated toys will go to needy families this holiday season.

"It's too important. They're too many kids that have a need," Kristi Rainwater, Pilot general manager told the news outlet. "And more importantly, we need to help the Wesley House make sure they're able to fulfill the needs of the children here locally." Rainwater added that the company is excited to be able to help the community and that this year the toy donations were increased by about $10,000 compared to the previous year.
