KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Ruyan America Inc.’s Ruyan Vegas E-cigar, a smokeless, disposable cigarette substitute, is now available in 45 Pilot Food Mart stores, operated by Pilot Corp., in the region here.
The Ruyan Vegas has the look and feel of a premium cigar, and is 5.5 inches long with an approximate circumference of a 50-ring size. It uses a microchip, airflow sensor, ultrasonic atomizer and nicotine-infused liquid to produce a vapor providing the user with the experience of smoking, without producing second-hand smoke, the company stated. It also produces approximately 1,800 mouthfuls of vapor, which is nearly the equivalent to the amount in a carton of cigarettes. Pilot stores were expected to offer the product for $29.99.
"We have seen the research from Ruyan America and believe that this is going to be an exciting alternative to smoking that does not emit second hand smoke," Dan Fleming, Pilot vice president of operations, said in a statement.
Another Ruyan product, the Ruyan Jazz, is a disposable E-cigarette that will debut in Pilot stores within 60 days, the company stated. The Ruyan Jazz will be the equivalent of four to five packs of traditional cigarettes and was expected to retail under $25 each, according to the company.
