Pilot Flying J Introduces First Combined iPhone App

KNOXVILLE, TENN. -- Pilot Flying J released its first combined Apple iPhone application (app). Both Pilot and Flying J introduced separate apps in the past, but My Pilot is the first app the company has debuted following its June 2010 merger.

The My Pilot app provides location and trip features for the more than 550 Pilot and Flying J travel centers and travel plazas throughout North America. Once the app is downloaded, users can locate the closest Pilot or Flying J location and see its fuel prices. Drivers can also plan a trip by entering the start and end points, and the app will fill in all of the details about Pilot and Flying J locations along the way.

"We've designed the My Pilot app to serve as a one-stop solution for any road trip," said Ken Parent, senior vice president of operations for Pilot Flying J. "We believe the new and improved features of the app will provide helpful information, added convenience and peace of mind for our customers -- whether you're a professional driver checking loyalty points or a family looking for a nearby place to refuel with a restaurant everyone can agree on."

In addition to checking fuel prices and loyalty program information, My Pilot allows users to rate each visit, connect with Pilot Flying J on several social media sites, contact the company's customer service team to receive assistance, search for locations offering Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) and rate their shower experience.

To help encourage customers to download the free app, Pilot Flying J is giving away a $200 gas card each week to one lucky customer who does so.

According to Lynsay Caylor, social media marketing manager for Pilot Flying J, the company plans to unveil an Android version of the My Pilot app as early as January.
