PHOENIX - About 20 of the 300 Phoenix Circle K stores in the Phoenix area ran out of gas Wednesday, and more stations could run out today, according to the Arizona Republic.
Phillips Petroleum Co. spokesman Rich Johnson said the problem shouldn't affect prices and will be remedied soon, according to the report. Phillips? main distribution terminal in the area ran out of regular and premium unleaded gasoline due to low inventories.
The Bartlesville, Okla.-based company was having trouble switching to summer-grade gasoline, the newspaper reported.
Tight supplies of summer blend also forced the company to cut off unbranded dealers in St. Louis so that it could supply its branded stations, according to the Wall Street Journal.
