PepsiCo's Potato Chip Portfolio Hits $10B

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- PepsiCo Inc.'s Banner Sun potato chip portfolio has joined the $10-billion annual retail sales club.

The portfolio of brands housed under Banner Sun are Walker's, Smith's, Sabritas and the company's top-selling Lay's product.

Driving the success of PepsiCo's potato chip portfolio is expansion into overseas markets. According to the company, about 60 percent of Banner Sun sales come from outside North America. Other than the United States and Canada, the chip portfolio has its most sales in the United Kingdom, Russia, Spain, Australia, China, Mexico, the Netherlands and India.

"PepsiCo continues to focus on growing its largest food and beverage brands, and this milestone is another example of how our efforts are paying off," said Salman Amin, PepsiCo's chief marketing officer. "Whether it's Lay's, Walker's, Smith's or Sabritas, PepsiCo has built some of world's strongest brands that are loved by consumers around the globe."
