    7-Eleven, Rutter's Announce HR Appointments.

NEW YORK - Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc., which operates or franchises approximately 5,800 convenience stores in the United States, announced that Paul G. Rostron joined the company as senior vice president in its human resources area, reporting to 7-Eleven's president and CEO, Jim Keyes. He will oversee all aspects of the company's human resource function, including staffing, compensation and benefits, training and organizational development.

Rostron, 42, joins 7-Eleven from FedEx Kinko's, where he served as executive vice president and chief people officer. In that capacity, he was responsible for leading the company's human resources, corporate communications and other administrative functions. Rostron was instrumental in Kinko's being named to Fortune magazine's "100 Best Places to Work" for two consecutive years.

Prior to joining FedEx Kinko's, Rostron held senior human resource positions at Gateway Inc., and Abbott Laboratories Inc. He started his career at Montgomery Ward and has worked in the human resource field for more than 20 years.

"Paul's expertise and experience in building and leading world-class human resource organizations will be a significant benefit to our company," said Keyes. "Paul's understanding of large, multi-unit retail organizations like 7-Eleven will aid in advancing the development of our 30,000-plus employees and allow us to continue to strengthen the 7-Eleven brand."

In other HR news, York, Pa.-based Rutter's named Krista Jenkins vice president of human resources for its three companies and more than 800 employees. The Rutter's companies include Rutter's Farm Stores, which operates 50 convenience stores Pennsylvania; Rutter's Dairy, which serves customers in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C.; and M&G Realty, a real estate holding company.

Jenkins came to Rutter's from Breuners Home Furnishing Corp., where she was director of human resources. Prior to that, she worked in the staffing and recruiting industry for Olsten Corp., where she was area operations manager. She has a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certificate from the national Society for Human Resource Management and serves on the board of the Lancaster County Association for Human Resource Management.
