LAVAL, Quebec -- Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. announces that Jean-Luc Meunier, currently vice-president of operations for Eastern Canada, has been appointed vice-president of operations for the Central Canada division replacing Stéphane Gonthier, who held the position by interim in addition to his current functions as senior vice-president of Eastern North America.

The vacancy created by the nomination of Meunier is filled by the nomination of Michel Bernard. For the past two years, Bernard held the position of vice-president of operations for the Midwest U.S. division.

For the position of vice-president of operations for the Midwest U.S. division, Couche-Tard nominated Darrell Davis, former director of marketing for the Midwest U.S. division. Davis has over 20 years of experience in the convenience store industry namely with Dairy Mart Convenience Stores.

"The foregoing nominations follow our organizational restructuring of our North American operations announced earlier this year which resulted in creating two large markets (Eastern and Western North America) and we believe that this will allow us to continue to improve our overall effectiveness," Réal Plourde, executive vice-president and CEO, said.

In supplier news, Miller Brewing Co. promoted Craig Bosworth to senior sales director of convenience stores. Bosworth comes to his new position with 24 years of sales experience, most recently in his role with Miller as team leader for Kroger East/Winn-Dixie.

"Craig’s strong perspective in the industry and his ability to implement category management principles and strategies will serve Miller well as we execute our c-store strategy and operational plan," said Regenia Stein, vice president of strategic accounts and category management. "His promotion is an example of Miller’s commitment to bringing in and rewarding performance-driven people who are fundamental to our potential to grow as a company and build our competitive advantage."

Bosworth has spent more than 20 years selling and developing Miller’s business. In his previous position, Bosworth and his team delivered significantly improved share and volume during the last three year-period. Prior to that, Bosworth was influential in defining the supermarket team structure through his management of the Kroger team nationally.
