TULSA, Okla. -- After 29 years of service, Eddie R. Humphrey, CITGO Petroleum Corp.'s chief financial and administrative officer, has elected to retire effective May 31, 2004. Jerry Thompson, chief operating officer, will act as interim CFO until the company names a replacement.

"Eddie has provided a valuable service to CITGO over the years, and his leadership and level of knowledge will be difficult to replace," stated Luis Marin, CITGO's president and CEO. "On behalf of the entire corporation, I want to thank him for his service to CITGO and wish him well in his retirement," Marin concluded.

Over the years, Humphrey has held various finance and administration positions, including senior vice president finance and administration, treasurer, and corporate controller.
